Mangold Wurzel Weigh InThe mangold wurzel weigh in took place as part of Dorset Food Week on 27th October 2007. Our green-fingered customers had been nurturing specimens of this fine root vegetable since they picked up their seeds in the spring with a single aim - heaviest wins!
Winners of the weigh-in were Laura Hillier of Gillingham, whose mangold weighed in at an impressive 7.015kg and, in the junior category, Chloe Norris of Henstridge with a specimen weighing 5.085kg. Prizes were also awarded to Jacob Pope for the most interesting looking mangold and to Sophie Alford for the most aesthetically pleasing mangold. Congratulations to all who took part!
Summer Planter Draw
Congratulations to Peter Webber who was the winner of our summer prize draw for members, winning a beautiful fully stocked planter.
